University of Ghana Endorses Sleep Research Group, and Initiators of the Africa Sleep Society and Sleep Society of Ghana, Advancing Regional Sleep Research Collaboration

Accra, Ghana – February 19, 2026 — The Africa Sleep Society and the Sleep Society of Ghana have achieved a major milestone following a successful in-person engagement at the University of Ghana (UG). The highlight of the visit was the University’s formal endorsement of the joint research group and affiliated sleep societies, signaling strong institutional support for advancing sleep science across Africa.
This endorsement marks a pivotal step in strengthening academic and research collaboration, unlocking new opportunities for joint studies, campus-based programming, and expanded regional impact. With UG’s backing, the partnership is well-positioned to accelerate interdisciplinary research and promote evidence-based interventions in sleep health.
